🌞 Our Purpose-Raised Puppy Training Program
At Sunshine Mountain Retrievers, we don’t just raise puppies—we intentionally develop them from birth with a focus on emotional stability, confidence, and long-term success as family companions and service dog prospects.
From the very first days of life through 14 weeks of age, our puppies participate in a structured, science-based developmental and training program inspired by Puppy Culture, early neurological research, and service-dog foundation standards.
This approach allows us to shape how a puppy handles the world, not just what commands they know.
🧠 What Makes Our Program Different
Most puppies begin training after they go home.
Our puppies begin before their eyes are even open.
Our program includes:
-
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) in the neonatal period to support stress resilience and nervous system development
-
Early Scent Introduction (ESI) to build confidence, adaptability, and early problem-solving skills
-
Gradual exposure to sounds, surfaces, handling, and independence
-
Early crate confidence and self-regulation skills
-
Calm human engagement without over-dependence
-
Foundational obedience (sit, down, stay) introduced at developmentally appropriate stages
-
Leash manners, impulse control, and polite behavior
-
Early public exposure focused on neutrality, not overstimulation
The result is a puppy that is:
✔ More emotionally regulated
✔ More adaptable to change
✔ Less reactive and less anxious
✔ Faster to train once home
✔ Better prepared for service, therapy, or structured family life
🐕🦺 Why Families Choose to Add Our Training Package
Adding a training package means your puppy doesn’t start from scratch when they come home—you’re continuing a foundation that’s already been carefully constructed and built to your needs as a family and their needs as a puppy.
Families who add our training package often notice:
-
Easier crate training and smoother transitions
-
Less biting, jumping, and frustration behaviors
-
Faster bonding without separation anxiety
-
Better focus and responsiveness
-
A calmer puppy in new environments
-
Reduced stress for both puppy and family
For service-dog or working-dog homes, this early foundation is critical. For pet homes, it often means fewer behavior challenges and a more enjoyable first year.
🏡 A Smoother Transition Home
One of the hardest parts of bringing home a puppy is the adjustment period. Puppies raised with structured early training:
-
Recover faster from stress
-
Handle change with more confidence
-
Understand boundaries earlier
-
Are already familiar with routines, crates, and expectations
Our goal is not perfection—it’s preparation. As every puppy is different and perfect in there own unique ways.
💛 An Investment in the Puppy You’ll Have for Years
Early training is not about rushing puppies or expecting adult behavior too soon. It’s about giving them the best possible start—neurologically, emotionally, and behaviorally.
Families who choose to add our training package are investing in:
-
Long-term success, not quick fixes
-
A puppy that is easier to live with and train further
-
A foundation that supports service work, therapy work, or exceptional family companionship
